Coriaria genus. This is a small genus of about 30 species of deciduous subshrubs, shrubs and small trees. The branches are angled with a row of oval leaves. The flowers are produced in spikes in the summertime. The tiny petals will enlarge greatly and after the flowering they will become thick and fleshy. They are frost to half hardy and will need full sun and fertile, well drained soil. You can propagate by softwood cuttings in the summer or by seed in the autumn.
