I intend to over winter my Cosmos atrosanguineus Chocamocha tubers. They have flowered beautifully over summer and as the specimens I bought were not cheap I'd…
They are half hardy to frost tender, and will need a sunny position. It will do best in moist but well drained soil. In mild areas, tubers of half hardy C.atrosanguineus may be over-wintered in ground if protected with a deep mulch.
You can propagate the half-hardy species by basal cuttings in the spring, the annuals by seed in the autumn or spring.
Pests, diseases or disorders
Aphids, slugs and grey mould may be troublesome.
