Description

Cosmos astrosanguineus (Black cosmos). This species is a tuberous- rooted, clump-forming herbaceous perennial which is native to America and Mexico. It will bear deep red black richly scented single flowers; they are thought to smell of chocolate. The leaves are spoon-shaped to ovate and hairy; they are bipinnate or pinnate and tinged with dull purple.
