Description

Costus woodsonii (Spiral flag). They are mostly clump-forming rhizomatous evergreen perennial herbs. There are about 150 species that will grow mainly in the wet tropics. The leaves are spirally arranged on reed-like stems. The tubular decorative flower-heads will grow in terminal cones; they are highly attractive and excellent for arrangements or cut flowers.
