Description

Crataegus pentagyna (Hawthorn). A branched clumped tree native to Eastern USA. Ovate to obovate, hairy leaves are opposite and dark green. Flowers are pink and fruits are black red.

Interest and use

They have clustered, 5 petalled, occasionally double flowers in spring-summer, ornamental fruits and in some cases autumn colour. Suitable for coastal conditions.
