Description

Crataegus phaenopyrum (Washington thorn). This species is known for the beautiful spring flowers and showy fruit in the summer and autumn. The leaves are triangular, heart shaped mid green leaves, which will turn orange-red in the autumn. The small flowers are white and will grow in clusters. The fruits are large and bright red they are very long lasting. It is the least susceptible to fireblight of all the hawthorns. They will thrive in adverse situations.
