Description

Agapanthus praecox var. orientalis (African lily). This evergreen, clump-forming perennial has broad, strap-shaped, dark green leaves which are 30-70cm long. It produces large, rounded umbels which are 15-30cm across, of trumpet-shaped, rich mid-blue flowers, 4-6cm long, in late summer and early autumn.

Interest and use

Grown for their ornamental flowers and seedheads. Often used for cutting. Mixed borders, containers, massed plantings, gravel plantings.
