Description

Cyclamen cilicium. Native to southern Turkey has heart-shaped to round leaves that are slightly toothed. The single flowers are borne on 10-12 cm stems and are pink shades and appear from autumn to early spring.

Cultivation

They are fully hardy to frost tender, min 5-7C and will require humus-rich, well drained soil with sun or partial shade. If pot grown, in summer dry off tubers of all except C.purpurascens (which is evergreen and flowers in summer); repot in autumn and water to restart growth.

Propagation

Propagate from seed in autumn; plants should flower in a year.

Susceptible to black rot.
