Description

Cyclamen mirabile. Native to western Turkey. Bears small green leaves with pinkish grey markings on the upper surface, the undersides reddish. The pink flowers with red dots at the base of the petals appear in autumn.

Cultivation

They are fully hardy to frost tender, min 5-7C and will require humus-rich, well drained soil with sun or partial shade. If pot grown, in summer dry off tubers of all except C.purpurascens (which is evergreen and flowers in summer); repot in autumn and water to restart growth.

Propagation

From seed in autumn; plants should flower in a year.

Susceptible to black rot.
