Description

Cytisus ‘Porlock’ (Broom). A vigorous, arching semi-evergreen shrub with upright shoots and 3-palmate leaves. Terminal racemes of very fragrant, clear yellow flowers, are produced in spring and rarely in mild weather in winter.

Interest and use

Grown for their abundant, pea-like flowers. These are very attractive to bees. Summer interest. Suitable for coastal conditions.

Cultivation

They are fully to half hardy and will prefer full sun with fertile but not over-rich, well drained soil. Resents being transplanted.
