Description

Ajuga pyramidalis (Pyramidal bugle). This is a compact, clump-forming perennial with leaves forming a rosette at the base. Dark green leaves become smaller as grow up the stem, have rounded tips and are oppositely arranged and often flushed with purple. The flowers are blue or mauve in colour, held on a spike-like structure made of axillary whorls. The stems and leaves are hairy.
