Dyckia genus. There are about 100 species of evergreen, rosette forming perennials. The leaves are linear and have a grey, red-brown tinge. The flowers are tubular-shaped and bloom in yellow orange red. They are frost tender, min 7-10C, and will require full light and well drained soil containing sharp sand or grit. You will need to water moderately in the summer, and scarcely or not at all in the winter. Propagation is by offsets or division in the spring.
