Echium genus (Borage). The genus has about 40 species of annual and evergreen perennial shrubs which are native to the Mediterranean. They are grown for their spectacular, bright blue or pink flowers which will bloom in late spring and summer. The hairy leaves will grow in basal rosettes on the flower stalks.

They are fully hardy to frost tender, min 3C, and will need full sun with fertile, well drained soil. You should water the containerized specimens freely in the summer and moderately at other times.
Propagate by seed in spring or by greenwood or semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
Whitefly may sometimes be troublesome. Contact with foliage may irritate skin.
