Cultivation

They are fully to frost hardy, most evergreen species will thrive in sun or shade, but those with silver leaves and deciduous species will prefer full sun. They will also need fertile, well drained soil. Trim hedges in late summer.

Propagation

Propagate from seed for deciduous species (which fruit freely) and cuttings for the evergreens.
