Description

Epipremnum genus. This genus consists of 8 species of woody-stemmed, evergreen root-climbing plants. They will climb by using adhesive aerial roots and can reach great heights in the forests. The mature leaves can be up to 60cm long and heart-shaped. They will flower after producing the mature foliage.

Interest and use

Grown for their handsome leaves.

Cultivation

They are frost tender, min 15-18C, they can be grown in light shade away from direct sun light, with well drained, moisture retentive soil. You should remove the shoot tips to induce branching at any time.

Propagation

Propagation is by leaf budding or stem-tip cuttings in late spring or by layering in the summer.

Pests, diseases or disorders

Susceptible to scale insects and red spider mites under glass.
