Eriobotrya genus. This genus consists of about 30 species of evergreen shrubs or trees. The trees can grow to about 9m, they have leathery deeply veined leaves with silvery or felty undersides. The flower sprays are insignificant creamy white and scented. They are frost hardy but in cold areas they will grow against a south or west facing wall. The fruits, which will ripen in the spring they may be damaged by hard winter frosts. Grow them in a sunny position with fertile, well drained soil. you can propagate by seeds in the autumn or spring.
