Description

Fothergilla major (Witch alder). This shrub thrives in cool, shady mountain areas. Grows to 3m tall and a spread of 2m. Bears fragrant, white-green ball-shaped flowers appear in spring and again in autumn. The dark green leaves, slightly blue beneath turn yellow in autumn. The best known of the genus.
