Fragaria genus (Strawberry). The species are low-growing, creeping or tufted perennials from Europe, Asia and North America. The 3-palmate dark green leaves have toothed leaflets. The flowers are white or pink and will appear in cymes in the spring. The red strawberry-like fruits have tiny pips.

Grow them in fertile limy well drained soil with full sun with some dappled shade. Harvesting may start in early summer and may end in late summer.
Propagate from seed in spring or autumn or by runners or offsets and replant with fresh stock every few years.
Prone to leaf spot, honey fungus, fungal wilts, red spider mites and vine weevil grubs.
