Description

Fraxinus angustifolia (Narrow-leaved ash).

DUE TO THE SPREAD OF CHALARA FRAXINEA (ASH DIEBACK DISEASE) RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN IMPOSED BY THE UK GOVERNMENT PREVENTING THE MOVEMENT OF HOMEGROWN AND IMPORTED PLANTS. MEMBERS ARE ADVISED NOT TO OFFER ANY FRAXINUS TREES FOR SWAP OR SALE UNTIL RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED.

Related to F 'excelsior', with similar foliage, flowers and fruit but darker bark and leaves in whorls of 3 to 4, not pairs. Can grow in semi-arid climates and has a broadly columnar to rounded crown. They are widely planted as street and park trees.
