Description

Abutilon megapotamicum (Trailing abutilon). This species of Abutilon is a prostrate shrub ideal for ground cover or rock-gardens. It produces small, bright yellow bell-shaped flowers with large, deep red, bulbous sepals and can grow up to 2.5m tall.

Cultivation

In cooler climates it is most usually grown as a pot plant but in hardiness zone 8 it can be grown outdoors against a sheltered wall. Light, medium, heavy moderately fertile, well-drained soil.

Propagate by softwood cuttings. Also by seed; germination temperature is 15 to 18 degrees C.
