Description

Gazania genus (Treasure flower). There are about 16 species of low-growing annuals and perennials. The leaves are entire or deeply lobed, long and narrow, they are often dark green on top and white or silver grey-felted beneath. The bright single flowerheads are borne singly on short stalks. They are yellow, orange, pink, red, purple shades blooming from mid spring until the summer.

Interest and use

Useful for summer bedding, pots and tubs (containers). Walls, rock garden, ground cover.

Cultivation

Prone to grey mould in damp conditions.
