Description

Gerbera genus (Transvaal daisy). This genus has about 40 perennial species, they will produce showy flowerheads which will bloom in various colours.

Mountainous Africa, Asia

Cultivation

They are half hardy and will grow in full sun with light sandy soil.

Propagation

You can propagate by heel cuttings from side shoots in the summer or by seeds in the autumn or early spring.

Pests, diseases or disorders

Leaf spot and miners, root rot, aphids, whitefly and tarsonemid mites may be all be problematic.
