Description

Geum urbanum (Herb bennet). The roots of this plant were once used to flavour ales. They have a slight clove scent. This plant is often found in the wild in Northern Europe. STEM: Mostly upright, brittle. ROOT: Fibrous from short stock. HAIRS: Short, rather bristly. STIPULES: Present, lower as a row of bristles, upper toothed LEAF-STALK: Present BRACTS: Present FLOWER STALK: Longer than flower, upright. SEPALS: 5, oval, pointed. PETALS: 5, oval, blunt. STAMENS: Numerous STIGMA: 1 per ovary. OVARY: Numerous, 1-celled. SEEDS: Not released.
