Description

Helianthus annuus ‘Earth Walker’ (Annual sunflower). This is a hardy annual, which will produce large yellow-petaled flowers. The centres are filled with edible seeds which birds, squirrels and people like to eat. These tall flowers look lovely as a border planting in a vegetable garden. They are fun for kids to grow in a child's garden as the seeds are big and sprout quickly. Some cultivated varieties are dwarfed or branching and have smaller flowers, sometimes with double petals. A timeless cut flower guaranteed to cheer up a room and never go out of style. For early flowering, sow seeds indoors in early spring. This crop has a minimum optimum growing temperature of 17C and a maximum optimum growing temperature of 34C.
