Helwingia genus. These are deciduous shrubs, bearing flowers and showy fruits directly on the leaf surfaces. Grown mainly for botanical interest. Needs separate male and female plants in order to produce fruits. Fully hardy. Requires sun or semi-shade and moist soil. Propagate by softwood cuttings in summer.
