Hoya carnosa (Wax plant). The common name for this species is the Wax Plant, which is ideally grown in the greenhouse or hanging basket. It is a semi-succulent climbing vine with thick, shiny evergreen foliage and densely clustered flowering heads of star-shaped pink, white or red blossoms. They will need full sun or light shade and well drained, humus-rich soil. Keep them well-watered during the growing period in the spring and summer and less during winter. Propagation can be by root cuttings in late spring to early summer, semi-ripe cuttings in summer or seeds indoors year-round.
