Hunnemannia genus (Mexican tulip poppy). This genus consists of one species of fast growing upright poppy which can be found in dry and elevated parts of Mexico. The leaves are oblong, finely dissected and bluish-green. The flowers are rich yellow, either single or semi-double and about 8cm wide, blooming in the summer and early autumn. You should grow in the sun in poor to fertile, very well drained soil. You should dead-head the plants regularly. Make sure you provide support, especially in windy areas. Propagation is by seeds sown under glass in the early spring or outdoors in mid-spring.
