Description

Aloinopsis schooneesii (Living Stone). This species will produce rosettes of diamond-shaped succulent, dark blue-green leaves that look like pebbles, known as 'mesembs'.
The flowers are yellow-bronze, and daisy like with a central darker line to each petal and they appear in winter.
The roots are tuberous and will form a trunk-like caudex over time.

Also known as Nananthus schooneesii.

Cultivation

Protect from full sunlight under glass as the leaves may redden. Otherwise this plant needs a good amount of filtered sunlight in order to flower. Water regularly but allow the soil to dry out between watering and grow in a deep pot of gritty soil. Re-pot every 2-3 years.
