I saw this somewhere and thought I'd pass it on. Recycle your empty drinks cartons and turn them into planters. Brilliant! You can even water it carefully through the pouring spout which stops all the soil floating over the edges and making a mess. Love it.

Here's another re-cycling idea for you. Cut fizzy drinks bottles in half and use each half as a cloche for tender seedlings you have planted outside. It protects the plants through the first few weeks of April or until all frosts have finished, acting as mini-greenhouses for your seedlings.

I've just planted out some parsley that I'd put in my cartons. They were looking a bit sorry for themselves due to overwatering. So I suggest making a few holes in the bottom. Careful what surface you leave them on to avoid water stains.
