I thought that a perlagonium expert would jump in here, but as no-one has... so far... I'll just say that I've taken any number of cuttings from geranium/perlargonium, and all I have ever done in to snip off a section, remove all but two/three of the leaves (leaving the very top-most ones) then shove into a half-pot of compost, water, and leave to get on with it!

Most perlargoniums are very easy to strike, and most of my Clients get me to take a batch of cuttings at about this time of year, so they can keep them going indoors over the winter, then pot on and put outside next summer.
