I can't remember what this is, I planted this a couple of years ago. It grows to about 1.5/2 m tall and has conical flowers, that are pale blue. This year the plant was hacked down to ground level by my wife, she's not known for her gardening prowess. I've noticed that it's come back up and starting to flower. The pictures show the flowers not completely set, but the flower head is about thumb size, the leaves are serrated. Any help would be appreciated.

The plant looks like the bog sage (salvia uliginosa) it’s home range is from Brazil to Argentina. It’s hardy for us in Westmoors ,Dorset.

You clever things you, thank you. I've checked through my e mails for plant orders I've had, and bingo it's on the list. It came as part of a collection, the label has faded. i want to move it to a fence I need to cover.
    Thanks again.

If not too late, suggest you take some cuttings,

Thanks Winifred, I have take 20 basal cuttings already. I really like the fact that not all the flowers come at once, only a few open at a time.
