Is Pennisetum compressum dangerous to pets?

Could you please tell me if this plant is dangerous to cats? Mine keeps trying to eat the grass. Thank you.

My neighbours cat regularly munches on my pennisetum with seemingly no ill effects whatsoever. I'm pretty confident therefore that it will present no lasting effects to your own cat, Lynn. Perhaps you could introduce some extra vegetables into his/her cat food and see if that satisfies the craving for more greens.

Maybe your cat is just playing with it!

There don't seem to be any references on the internet to this grass being poisonous, and I've never heard of it being a problem: cats do like to eat grass from time to time as a normal part of their life, maybe yours just has exquisite taste in preferring a pretty grass to the common sort!

Thank you Paul and Rachel for putting my mind at rest. You have been very helpful.
