Hi Kish, I'll be interested to see what responses you get from other members, as I have considered this in the past.

At the time, I wrote it off as a bit "faddy" and I didn't like the idea that you had to buy special bran to make it work: instead, I went back to a wormery, which was cheap, easy, and very low maintenance.

But I'll be interested to see how others got on! Presumably you are thinking about trying it, yourself?

I was thinking as we don't really have room for a composter. I looked at the wormery as well. How are you getting on?

The wormery is cheap ( you can probably get a second-hand on your local Freecyle or equivalent group), easy (scrounge a small bucketful of active compost with red worms in it from someone with a compost heap, then just keep adding stuff!) and low maintenance - just pile in the food waste and greenery, empty the water part regularly, and take out the lovely compost when it's ready. I have mine by the front door, so it gets the sun, and is sheltered from the frost in winter.

    Give it a go!

Thanks I will give it a go
