Mark it in your diary, buy your advance tickets now and enjoy walking amongst some of Petersham’s most beautiful and secluded private gardens. Last open in 2016, these gardens are opening their gates again in aid of three local charities: Petersham Environment Trust, Ham and Petersham Sea Scouts and the Vineyard Community Centre.
With a variety of approximately ten gorgeous gardens on show there’s something to suit every taste: the grand, the ornate, the natural, the modern-minimalist, the picture-box perfect, the Zen, the quirky and even gardens in the making.
Garden spotting is thirsty work so teas and delicious homemade cakes will be on sale from mid-day at the Ham and Petersham Sea Scouts and from Petersham Lodge in River Lane. There will, weather permitting, also be a BBQ.
Here’s what some of our visitors had to say in at the last event in 2016:
“A triumph. Stunning gardens, delicious teas, a real feeling of community. A true taste of village life in London.”
“Our expectations were exceeded, such a treat to see into the gardens of the beautiful houses we pass every day.”
Advance tickets are available online now at www.petershamopengardens.org for the reduced rate of £12 per person and £8 for concessions. On-the-day tickets can be purchased from dedicated ticket desks signposted in the village for £15 per person and £10 for concessions. Entry is free for children under 16. Gardens will be open from 11am-5pm, with last ticket sales at 4pm.
