The picturesque village of Marchington is situated on the borders of Staffordshire and Derbyshire, about 4 miles from the market town of Uttoxeter. Marchington will be opening 12 gardens as part of their Festival weekend on 23rd and 24th June from 12-5pm. We are thrilled that this year there will be an opportunity to view the garden of the historic 17th Century Marchington Hall (Sunday only)
Proceeds will go to our charming Community shop, which opened some 7 years ago and is staffed by an enthusiastic band of volunteers. Tickets are available in the shop from 11th June and from the shop and nominated gardens on the day for just £5 (under 16’s are free). These are valid for both days. There will also be a chance to sample our wares at a food and wine tasting at the shop.
Garden lovers will be able to purchase plants on their way round the village at several gardens and the shop. While you are walking around you can also enjoy the scarecrows and vote for your winner. You can also pop into the beautiful parish church of St Peters to view their display of crafts, or the village hall to see a photographic exhibition. This year there will be a display of classic cars too, so this really will be a perfect family day out.
There will be several refreshment opportunities including Tea and Cake, Cream Scones, Hot Dogs and Ploughman’s lunches as well as a chance for a little tipple here and there! For more information and times see our websites.
