Free plant (seedlings)

I have a couple hundred or so Rudbeckia seedlings about 30-60mm tall, strong and healthy. I'm not asking to swap them, just find someone who might like them.

    Hi Lesley
We are in a small village of Wherwell in Hampshire

Not sure how is the best way to get them to you?

Thanks, Robert, possibly a little far as I am in south east London but thank you anyway. What a pretty village it looks on the photos on Google maps.

I put out left over plants from our sale or surplus produce on the wall in the front garden, with a "please take" notice, but it depends on how small your village is!
    Kind regards
    Lesley

Lesley, lets give it a go... are you able to get a postal address to me by Tuesday midday? If you can I will pack some carefully in a moist bag and first class post them to you Tuesday evening. Hopefully they will arrive Wednesday morning with you. They are between 60 & 80mm tall now.

Pity we are not closer as I have around 8,000 Dianthus (rainbow mix), ready for our plant sale next weekend.

    Regards
    Robert

That would be fantastic, Robert, thank you so much. My address is 11 Colepits Wood Road, Eltham SE9 2QJ. You sound like you grow more on a commercial scale than I do - 8000 Dianthus!!! With a bit more notice maybe we'll be able to come to your plant sale next year.

    Kind regards
    Lesley

    Hi Lesley
They are in the post first class, marked plants, do not bend, fragile and anything else I could think of!
50-100mm tall, still quite small. They are in a moist bag with a little compost. Please pot them up as soon as possible and keep them damp not wet in some warmth.
I've popped a couple of cards in with it, best regards and all the best on the 10th
    Robert

They arrived this morning, Robert, and are absolutely fine. I have now potted them all up and even if some of them aren't quite big enough for the sale I will hang on to them as we are donating most of the unsold plants to a disabled centre locally whose garden is composed almost entirely of weeds.

Good luck with your sale, I hope the weather is kind.
