Gardens in the historic and picturesque village of Walton will open their gates in support of their successful community library on Sunday 8 July from 11am to 4pm.
The maiden event in 2016 was a great success with nearly 600 people from all over the north of England enjoying a beautiful day and raising in excess of £5000 for the library. The library has been running nearly five years and acts as a community hub for the village with many activities every week – as well as holding an impressive book collection.
On Sunday 8 July there will be five hours of live music to complement the beautiful gardens including the ever popular Ali Bullivent, The Gospel Roots Brass Band (following a successful gig at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017), local duo Emilie and Matthew, The Sandal Singers and the library’s own Ukulele Band. There will of course be free car parking, refreshments, plant stalls, children’s activities and more…
Wrist bands allowing access to ALL gardens are available from Walton Community Library and En Route Hair & Beauty as well as other outlets in the village. They cost £5 in advance and £6 on the day from the Village Hall and participating gardens.
