Plants for a strawberry pot

Can anyone recommend hardy, low maintenance plants (preferably evergreen) for a smallish (about 15" high) ceramic strawberry pot - I've tried thyme and campanula but with disappointing results. I've thought about Sedum Rubrotinctum (Jelly Bean plant) but I understand that it is not hardy.

Sempervivums might look nice - especially some of the smaller neater ones

Hi Richard, this might sound facetious, but have you considered strawberries? Not the commercial fruiting ones, but either the small-but-cute alpine strawberries, the wild ones: or, better, Fragaria × ananassa 'Pink Panda' which has strawberry foliage, pink flowers, and actually bears fruit as well. It's evergreen in mild winters.

Maybe a tuft or two of Black Mondo - Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens. - for contrast on the top opening?

Thanks Rachel. Pink Panda does look good. - just need to save up for them now!

Hardy succulents work as I've done it before and it looks really good. Sempervivums, sedums, some types of succulent saxifragas would all work well.
