Espaliered Camellia (my attempt)

  • Espaliered Camellia (my attempt)

A few years back I bought a Camellia that was being trained as a climber rather than a bush. My side garden is the ideal spot for Camellias - no morning sun! The border is quite narrow and with no scope for widening - I decided to have a wee go at growing in Espalier style - or should that be 'Espalierish Style'!
As is usual when you buy these plants, they are brought on to flower prolifically the first year and indeed it did. The next two years it spent putting down roots. This year (3rd spring) it decided to flower for the first time since being planted out. I thought I'd share with you my efforts.
Not quite as formal as some of the Espalier images I've seen but it's been good to try something a wee bit different and I'm quite pleased with it thus far.
