South Green - Opposite the Widdington sign in the centre of the village green. This pretty cottage garden behind an 18th century house twists and turns into different secret areas.
Bridgecroft Cottages - A 100-year-old house with immaculate vegetable plots at the back of a garden planted for all-round colour The rear of the garden was church allotments until 1995. There is a pond with a variety of fish.
Ashcroft - A one-and-a-halt-acre garden with some unusual trees, colourful shrubs and a rose arbour in a tranquil setting with far-reaching views over farmland.
Finches - A peaceful family garden overlooking farmland with unusual trees, various fruit trees, bushes and many pots for added colour.
Inglenook - Secluded half-acre garden with stunning topiary, grasses and palms that give a distinctly Mediterranean feel.
Brookside - A contemporary 1970s house in a half-acre garden. Clever planting of shrubs and herbaceous plants gives the impression of a circular garden. There are cutting flowers in raised beds and a magnificent collection of over 40 acers.
Widdington House - A Victorian country house dating from the 1850s with sweeping lawns, a parterre with blue agapanthus, colourful beds and borders, vegetable beds and fruit trees. A magnificent yew hedge in the shape of a steam train neatly splits the garden in two.
Slaters House - Low maintenance garden attached to a four-acre smallholding with pigs, chickens, geese and cattle. Children must be supervised.
London Jock Wood - At the end of a long track is the woodland garden of a country house. The circular drive surrounds an ornamental fountain. fine trees, pleached limes and a rose walk with far-reaching views leads to a woodland walk.
The "Wander" starts at the Village Hall in the centre of the village (Not The Cottage which is nearby).To enter all the gardens, use the map available with your entrance fee at the Village Hall.
Refreshments and toilets are also available in the village hall. Most gardens have some wheelchair access.
Price £:6.00 per adult, children under 12 free.
Directions: East off the B1383, signposted Widdington, near Saffron Walden.
