Barbon Village are holding their latest Open Gardens on 25th and 26th June. The village is set in a quiet part of the Lune Valley with magnificent views over the Fells. We have at least 9 gardens open including one new smaller garden. The gardens range from courtyard and smaller gardens through to a large formal garden all of which have an interesting variety of styles and planting.
The route between the gardens takes you on a scenic tour around the village. Features in the village and in the gardens include an art display in the church, an aviary with a variety of birds, a pot garden and a traditionally built log cabin. There is also a children’s playground at the Village Hall.
We are serving morning coffee, lunches and afternoon tea in the Village Hall. Additionally, food and drink are available from the Barbon Inn and from the Churchmouse shop and café both in the centre of the village.
Parking is free (just past the church). Most of the gardens are accessible by wheelchair or buggy. The gardens are open from 10:00am until 5:00pm. Dogs are welcome if on a lead. Entry for adults is £5 and children are free. All proceeds are for the work of St Bartholomew’s Church, Barbon. Barbon is 3 miles north of Kirkby Lonsdale on the A683. Use LA6 2LS for your GPS.
