  • Lillies

My second year lillies which were fantastic last year in pots have developed quite a few shoots, do I separate these when the lilly has died back?

Terry, it's your choice: you can either leave the new shoots (which are growing from new bulbs) to thicken up the clump, or at the end of the season you can gently dig around the base of the lilies, remove all the tiny new bulbs and pot them up seperately to grow them on, either to sell/swap them, or to plant them out elsewhere.
