Olney Gardens are open from 12 noon to 5.00 pm. Ticket £5 , admits one person. Accompanied children under 16 year olds, no charge. Tickets for this event will be available from The Cowper and Newton Museum, whose gardens will also be open for the afternoon.
Homemade cakes and drinks available in the courtyard of the Museum from 1.00 pm onwards. The attractive courtyard adjoins the museum gardens, which are open and included in the price of the ticket. The museum garden contains mainly plants available in this country before 1800, the year of the poet’s death. There is also a Victorian fruit and vegetable garden where many heritage seeds are grown.
There will be plants for sale in the courtyard – proceeds to go to the museum. The museum will also be open on this day and the usual entrance charges will apply. Adults £5 for an annual pass/ Children under 16 years free.
Proceeds of Open Gardens Olney will go to The Friends of Cobbs Garden Surgery, this is a registered charity which works to raise money for the Olney surgery. They provide equipment and services to the surgery that are no longer made available under the NHS. The proceeds will be shared with The Kitchener Centre. This is a day care centre giving older people in Olney and the surrounding villages somewhere they can meet, have a meal and take part in social activities.
