Clematis cartmanii Pixie

Flowering in abundance this week. Clematis cartmanii Pixie is generally not hardy here in Scotland and needs winter protection but not this year. We have only had 3 frosty mornings and even then the thermometer didn't drop below zero - and boy doesn't it show! The scent is pretty good too.

That's beautiful Angie!!! saw it at Harrogate last week and couldn't decide where I'd plant one so didn't buy, of course since I've come home found the perfect tree stump in a clearing in the wood typical!!, yours looks stunning :-)

Thanks Kathy - I'm very pleased with it this year, next year, who knows!
They are readily available in GCs, if I remember right, this was actually bought at B&Q a few years back. Maybe time for you to get it yet ;)

Ahh, this is a beauty Angie, I have seen it at, along with the ‘Bijou’ and ‘Filigree’, which I also have been thinking of getting, these low growing clematis’ are so much easier to find a space for in the garden than those that grow to 10’ :-)

This or the others will do well down there with you Helene, the cascade was what I had been aiming for at time of planting and I'm pleased it finally worked as I saw it in my head.
BTW - can you see one of your rose cuttings at the back :)
