Several leaves have this white/cream/beige markings on & a few leaves have gone brown & died(that could be normal probably) Does anyone know what this is & how to deal with it?

Hi Suzi, looks like either fungal damage, or a leaf miner of some kind to me - either way, I would suggest pinching off all the affected leaves and either burning them or putting them in the garden waste bin - don't put them on the compost.

It would be worth clearing away all the clutter of dead leaves and debris on the surface of the pot, and below the plant, and maybe thinning out some of the growth to allow better air movement through it (in case it is fungal), as Buddleia are very vigorous growers, and it will soon make up any growth that you remove!

My first thuot is caterpillar damage not much attacks buddleia in this country, as davidii is from Central Asia,,but on specie that does happily is mullein moth.
It is a native specialising in mulein (verbascum) as its name suggests. Even though budleias are in a seperate family, (loganiacae), verbascum, scrophulaceae, the two families are related, and our native mullein moth caterpillars are happy to munch on the alien Budleias. They will have hatched by now, look out for greenyellow caterpillars with black markings.
